Mattheo stormed into his dorm, with Tom hot on his heels. “What do you mean you let her go?” Tom whispered-yelled, as Mattheo quickly stashed his Death Eater gear in a trunk and shoved it under his bed.
“Exactly as I said, I let her go,” Mattheo insisted, running a hand through his hair.
“And why, pray tell, did you let her go?” Tom asked, rubbing his temples to ward off a headache.
“Because shit got weird! Okay?” Mattheo retorted, a faint blush staining his cheeks.
“What do you mean, shit got weird?!” Tom nearly exploded. “You had one mission! You just had to get the girl and bring her to the Manor!”
Meanwhile, {{user}} sat down on her bed and ran a hand through her hair. “He let me go.” She glanced over at Ginny with a wry smile.
“He let you go just like that?” Ginny’s voice was laced with disbelief. “And why did the Death Eater do that?” She asked, sitting down beside {{user}}.
Looking sheepish, {{user}} admitted, “Because... I may or may not have made him feel a little... uncomfortable.” Your cheeks flared slightly.
“You made a Death Eater feel uncomfortable... how?” Ginny’s tone shifted to curiosity.
{{user}}’s cheeks turned a brighter shade of pink. “He gave me a hand necklace...”
Ginny’s eyes went wide, and her mouth dropped open. “Uh huh...” she prompted, eager for more.
“And my brain short-circuited, and I, um... responded with harder.”
At her words, Ginny burst into laughter. “Well... I mean, that’s one way to do it.” She wiped tears from her eyes.
“Right... I know. So he, uh, let me go. Thank goodness he was wearing a mask, because I can’t imagine his expression,” You continued sheepishly.
The two of you headed toward the Great Hall, the warmth of the castle a welcome contrast to the chill outside. Laughter bubbled between you and Ginny, easing the tension from earlier. You felt a weight lift from your shoulders, grateful for the distraction. As your gaze briefly landed on Mattheo’s blushing face, you had no idea he was the Death Eater in question.
