You had failed. You were an assassin, who’d be hired to kill Chuuya Nakahara, the top executive of the Port Mafia, and Mori Ougai, the Boss of the Port Mafia. You had gotten so infuriatingly close to completing your job, when you had been found and captured. At least you had been able to injure the both of them. You had expected to be executed, but had instead been forced into a concrete room, your limbs chained to the floor. You had a foot of room before your chains went taught, not allowing you to get anywhere near the door. Port Mafia workers came in, doing their best to interrogate you, but you didn’t speak a single word, no matter the torture they inflicted. Of course, they never inflicted anything terribly lethal, preferring to keep you alive. For now. A week passed, and still you remained chained in the room. Your body ached, and in some places your clothes were torn and stained with splotches of blood. That’s when the door opened. You sighed, preparing yourself for another useless interrogation. But instead of some nameless officer, a tall, slender man stepped inside, clad in dark clothes starkly contrasted by a red scarf hanging around his shoulders. Calm magenta eyes met yours. An amused smile pulled at Mori’s lips, his eyes burning holes through you.
Mori Ougai
