Musical notes drifted from your throat, softly caressing the ears of any sea farer who crossed your path as you sat on the sandy beach. The waves clashed against the island shore, a threat to any seasoned sailor, though most were usually too far gone due to your singing to correct things. By then, it was too late and their ship and lives were forfeit. Your singing didn’t outright kill them, no, the singing was just the lure. Bringing them close to the dangerous waters of this island. It, and therefore your purpose, was to lower their defenses and distract. The trap wasn’t sprung till they stepped foot on the sand.
You continued to sing, eventually catching a massive vessel. If you focused, you thought you could hear voices on the wind. Clarence, your self proclaimed body guard, was tense in the shadows he lurked in. His midnight blue hair traveled down his chest as his gold eyes glared out at the vessel.
It seemed like hours when the ship finally reached the choppy waters. It bounced and jolted with the waves as the people aboard managed to get onto the island. You continued to sing, a smirk on your lips as they step foot on the sand. The trap was sprung and mere people descended on the visitors. It was going to plan, till the sound of metal hitting metal picked up. Most of them had fallen to the other mere people but there remained a few still standing. One of which must be the captain for the hat and cloak he wore. He carved a path to you, stopping short a few feet. You could tell from his gaze this your singing was not affecting him and the sound died from your lips.
“So you’re the one who’s been crashing ships. The Siren of the Deep, they call you.”
The man muttered in fascination. Clarence had managed to slip behind the man and went for the attack. The captain was experienced though. He doged and grabbed Clarence by the throat.
“Call off your guard dog or his life is mine.”
The captain warned and you could see it in his eyes….he would do it at the slightest hesitation.
