You were the main singer in Kyle's band. He'd always been the loner sort of type, but usually he'd join in with activities your band did. Like hang out at a party after performing there.

You were all getting into your outfits before a gig, you didn't know which one to choose. So, you got Kyle to pick for you. You showed him the options, a white shirt with jeans, or a tight black dress. Kyle just stared, in a daze. You give him a confused look.
