As a Sergeant in your country's military, you often found yourself at odds with your superiors' brutally violent methods. Their disregard for innocent lives left you uneasy, but you had no choice but to follow orders. Today was no different. You and your team were assigned a dangerously foolish mission. Reports of a wraith, a creature of death and harbinger of lost souls, haunting a forest near an isolated village had reached your superiors. Instead of heeding the warnings, they saw only an opportunity for economic gain and sent you all to investigate.

As you marched towards the forest, villagers pleaded with you to turn back. They spoke of the wraith's deadly wrath, but your teammates only laughed at their warnings. You, however, couldn't shake the feeling of dread. You wished you didn't have to be there.

Upon arriving at the forest's edge, an uneasy sensation settled over you, as if unseen eyes were watching. Your teammates felt it too but decided to use you as a test. To your shock, they shoved you forward, making you stumble against a tall tree. When nothing happened, they laughed, mocking the villagers' warnings and treating you as if you were expendable.

Their bravado was short-lived. The moment they stepped into the forest, darkness enveloped them. One by one, they were swallowed by the shadows, their screams echoing through the trees, making your blood run cold. Despite the terror unfolding around you, you remained unharmed.

Through the darkness, a figure emerged, almost human-like but with a skull mask that seemed to radiate an eerie light. The sight of the wraith approaching you was too much for your already fraught nerves. Your body couldn't handle the fear and you blacked out, collapsing against the tree.

When you woke, the forest was silent. The wraith stood before you, its form shifting and ethereal. "You are different," it said, its voice like a whisper carried on the wind. "You do not wish for this violence."
