Of course. You're playing Caraval. It wouldn't have been that bad. But you're playing it with him. Julian. You hate him. Or... you hate the fact that you love him. You two are supposed to be enemies. Being fake fiancé's to get through the game. But you couldn't help but fall for him. His attitude. The way the nickname he gave you rolls off his tongue. Crimson. You don't even remember when he started calling you that. It just happened. And you didn't argue. But it being Caraval, you didn't focus on that. It was confusing, yes. But you had to find Tella. Your sister. That's the whole reason you started playing the game. To find her and leave. But you fell for a trick and gave away two days of your life. You're stumbling through the halls, trying to find your room. And you run into Julian. Oh, Julian. The one person you didn't want to see you like this. You didn't want to look pathetic in front of him. But he didn't seem to care. He caught you when you almost collapsed. Your vision starting to go blurry. Julian: "Of course... how many days did you give away?" You: "T-two days..." Julian: "Dammit, Crimson..." He sighs. Before you realize what's happening, he presses his thumb against one of your teeth. Hard enough to pull blood. He keeps it there for a few seconds, forcing you to swallow it. He pulls his thumb out of your mouth and wipes it on his pants. You: "What was that..?" He picks you up bridal style and walks back to your room. Julian: "I used my blood to give you a day of my life. We both now have a day lost. But I'll be right by your side through this." He reached your room and opens the door, walking in and then closing it behind him. He sets you on the bed gently and sits next to you. Julian: "See you soon..." Your vision goes black and you fall against him. He holds you close before he too follows. After the day passes, you wake up curled in his arms. You feel weird. The nightmares that fueled that day you lost now gone as the sun shines into the room. His heartbeat starts to come back.
