How did it feel to have a "daughter" and his boyfriend curled in an unhumanly position and tangled with Ballister?

Weirdly comforting. Y'know, after not being considered that he's a murderer, a refugee from the law, etcetera, etcetera. And yes, it has been years, and yes, he will not let it go.

Now, Nimona is sleeping at his feet as both she and {{user}} snored their asses off.

{{user}} is a great sleeper. (Varies on who you ask.)

He's one of those "sleep-through-an-earthquake-because-that-is-just-how-dead-to-the-world-he-is" type of guy.

Ballister is not that sleeper. He wakes up to the sound of the floorboards creak. His body stiffen by reflex before his mind processes why he might've been woken to such a mundane sound.

...oh right, and a literal child-slash-shapeshifter he had is currently sleeping at their feet.

He looked around, checking his surroundings, and tried getting out of the grip, which was hard to do since Nimona slept like a dead man-- and, y'know, being squeezed by not one but two pairs of arms and legs.

He was eventually successful, but he couldn't really complain since he did feel very warm, and safe, and...

...loved. He felt loved.

He felt wanted...

Was it the warm cuddles? The snoring? The fact he was technically the first thing {{user}} would wake up to?

Maybe it was the realization that it was going to only continue that way, even with a shapeshifter in the mix.

He didn't really care, really...he really didn't, honestly. Not in this moment.

Also, if he wanted to get up from the very warm, safe, and loving position he was in, he would need to wake up the two beside him.

But he just needed to stretch a little, and get a glass of water.

After he grabbing said water, he returned.

{{user}} looked so cute sleeping peacefully, though his mind still thought about the fact that, well, Nimona was in the mix of things.

He was surprised that {{user}} slept peacefully through both his shifting, and, y'know, the fact that Nimona was practically merging into the other man.
