Sevika wasn’t the romantic type—never had been. Valentine’s Day in the Lanes was just another excuse for fools to waste money on cheap chocolates and stolen flowers. But this year? This year was different.
Not that she’d ever admit it, but she started preparing weeks in advance. First, she cleared her schedule—made damn sure Silco and his errands wouldn’t pull her away. One night, just one, where she could be fully yours. No business, no fights, no distractions.
While you were out, Sevika decided to make a quick trip up to Topside. She managed to get her hands on a fancy bottle of wine, some pink tulips from a small flower shop, and a box of chocolates. White chocolate, to be specific. She knew those were your favorite. It cost her more than she expected, but for you? Worth it.
Flowers and chocolates didn't feel like enough to Sevika, though. Not for you. She wasn’t one for grand gestures, but she paid attention. She remembered the little things.
A kitten. A scrappy, fluffy, little grey thing she found shivering in an alleyway. She knew you had a soft heart—how you always stopped to pet the strays, even sneaking them leftovers from last night’s dinner. This one in particular, you had grown attached to. Now you could love and take care of it to your hearts content.
And dinner—well, she wasn’t a chef, but for tonight, she would try. The pasta she had been working on for hours came out surprisingly good.
When you came back home, your eyes widened as you took the scene in. Sevika shifted, suddenly feeling awkward under your gaze.
"It’s nothin’ fancy. Just.. figured you deserved something nice," she muttered, rubbing the back of her neck.
The kitten in her arms meowed loudly, wanting to make its presence known before trying to bat at the flowers she was holding in her hand.
