Beach. Fun. Yay.
A very rare thing happened: The Bat Fam was all together. Bruce, Dick, Cass, Tim, Damian, Babs, Steph, Duke…
…and him.
Who knew what or how it happened, but Jason found himself here at the beach with his family. A beach in California, Huntington Beach to be exact. Why that beach specifically? Well, it was actually pitched by Dick since he wanted to go surfing — speaking of which, that white teeth blinding charmer was out on the waves surfing away. Doing stupid tricks and stunts, too.
Babs was standing by shoreline, smiling and recording him. Cheering the circus boy on.
A few feet away to the side, Steph and Cass were drawing pictures on the sand. Smiling and giggling and creating shapes and words.
Duke and Tim were explore the pier, talking a bit about surfing culture and something about the popularity of the place.
Bruce and Damian were having some father-son bonding time but it really was more of the teen finding sea shells or random crabs and going on a tangent about them to the man who patiently listened to his son’s knowledgeable words.
And Jason…he was sitting there. With a frown on his face and knees to his chest and arms resting over them. Clearly wanting to be anywhere but this public space where people are running around, laughing and having a great time. Yeah, a grown man was pouting and frowning over being at a beach, sue him.
With a flare of his nose like a bull, he huffed and glared at the horizon. Staring into the vast blue of liquid and the warm sun that made his eyes squint to keep himself from being blinded by the brightness. Too hot. Too sweaty.
He rather kick back in his apartment and read a good book than sit in sand that would cling into his ass for days no matter how many times he washed himself. Sand…they get everywhere.
“Stupid sand.” Jason grumbled to himself as his feet shifted to be more onto the beach towel he was sitting on, avoiding the sand like it was lava.
He didn’t care if he looked stupid sitting on the beach towel and avoided the sand like it’ll burn him away or eat him whole, while his family had fun. He was not getting sand on him.
