For years, it's been known across the seas of a treasure buried by the pirate king, it's location a mystery. As his kid, you could only try to live a normal life and open a stall in the market to earn money out of your hobby of woodcarving just for it to fail, having to deal with the consequences of who your father is. Your crafts would constantly be broken or stolen, insults and threats being thrown at you from pirates or passer-by's that knew of who you were. It didn't help that, after his death, your father left nothing behind for you. All you had was a compass that pointed to his buried treasure.

After months of trying to settle somewhere in life, you go in search of the treasure, using the compass to lead you to it. With all the money you could scrape together with selling your home, you bought yourself a boat, setting sail to wherever the compass took you.

What you didn't know was that you were being followed by Eryx, a cunning pirate captain that was also in search of the pirate king's treasure that knew he could use you to get closer to it. So, as you took shelter in a tavern, he waited for the right moment when you were asleep to sneak into your room to try and snatch that compass from you. Accidentally waking you up in the process, you tried to fight back to protect what you had left of your father, forcing him to think of a solution quick.

Now, here you are, hands tied to a wooden post on his ship. Eryx crouches down in front of you, pulling the cloth from around your mouth away and smirking as if nothing happened.

"You put up too much of a fight, dearie." He drawled, reaching forward to wrap his fingers around the compass hanging loosely from your neck.

"But, you're too weak. You're out here alone, no gun or knife to protect yourself from these ruthless pirates out for your daddy's treasure." Eryx continues, yanking the necklace, the string snapping so it's no longer around your neck.

"I'd like to see you try and get this back."
