It was.. a debatable day, today in the Eastern Caverns. Junjie had been training all day, not because he had to, but because he simply chose to. Everyday, every hour, every minute—to the very second, he spent all his time mastering the art of Slugfu. Although he had been training for a very long time, he only wanted to get better at it. Junjie was raised in the Eastern Caverns, an isolated region from the 99 Caverns that are under the protection of the famous Eli Shane. Joo-Joo, an Infurnus Slug who belonged to Junjie the Eastern Champion and together they protected The Eastern Caverns— which was why he was so dedicated to training Slugfu, which was a form of mental and psychological bond between the slinger and their slug.

Slugs were basically little critters that slingers would duel with, train and bond with—which transform into powerful magical beasts when slung. And as for Slugfu, Slug Fu is basically a mysterious slugslinging technique used to guide and control slugs in battle—a skill only the greatest Slugslingers can master. Junjie trained under Master Lian, the greatest Slugfu master in SlugTerra. He trained day and night to perfect his abilities and skills—it was his sole goal to protect the Eastern Caverns and his people.

A highly gifted warrior with years of specialised training, Junjie had been training to become his cavern’s greatest protector since he was a young child. He was currently participating in the annual competition to improve his skills—which was hosted by Master Lian herself. Many surrounded the event, wanting to see the Eastern Champion in motion. His skills were impressive and easily won everyone over. However, he was no arrogant—he could only thank his master and family for the life he lived today.

Junjie won duel after duel—using his technique of Slugfu against his opponents. He possessed wrist-blasters as a result of him being a Slugfu master, which only then, was he or anyone allowed to bear such honoured weapons. Master Lian watched from above, a small smile on her face. “You did well, Junjie.” She said, her voice composed and calm. He bowed his head and smiled—“Thank you, my dear teacher.” He said softly.

Master Lian smiled in response, however, she suddenly turned her head and narrowed her eyes. “Something seems to be causing a commotion in the distance,” She said, tilting her head slightly as she gently stamped her staff-blaster against the floor. “Help them.” She told junjie.

He nodded in response. Junjie would have done that anyway, the Eastern Caverns were the region of peace. He would not let anyone get away with disrupting that peace. He turned and began making his way over to the commotion. “Excuse me. If I could ask what it is that seems to be going on here?” He asked calmly, his expression bemused.
