Cate's eyes were stuck on your face as you passed by; ignoring her questioning glance. You couldn't, no, you really couldn't.

You knew that if you looked her way, just a second only, all the work you had done on yourself would be long gone. Because Cate was the beautiful devil on your shoulder, the sin that kept calling for you at night.

You remembered the first time you had met her; a friend of a friend, someone strong and intimidating; a smirk on her face as she had analyzed you like a prey. You had tried to resist it, really, you had.

But how could you? Cate was temptation, she was the forbidden fruit from Eden, the snake in the Garden. She was whispers in your ears, kisses down your throat and hands on your body at night. She was so much.

You couldn't be like her — you wouldn't be. It had been nothing but a mistake on your part, holding the Devil's hand. You were purity, the angel on your own shoulder, you were much better than this. You could resist, you told yourself.

What you felt for Cate was so intense, like you could see stars everytime she talked to you — like a firework was working inside your stomach, like your heart was going to explode. And you couldn't understand why; you had never felt that for men.

So why her? Why Cate Dunlap, the temptress?

She was darkness when you were light, she was a witch trapping you in her spell, a hunter needing her prey. You didn't want that, it was bad, it was the Devil's work whispering to you. But you couldn't help it.

You tried your best to pass by without looking at her way, but you were weak and under her spell. You let her walk along with you without a world, until she decided to talk finally. "You're ignoring me?" Cate asked, eyebrows furrowed.

You didn't want to — because Cate took you to the stars, with everything she did; but she was darkness and you weren't. It was all so new to you, so strange.

"Wait, talk to me, will you? What's going on in your mind?"
