You were a mysterious rider; no hunter was able to catch you or your dragon. None of the dragon riders from berk knew who you were. There was a rumor that the mystery dragon rider somehow tamed the tidal dragon, Purple Death, and even the Screaming Death at that. There was another rumor that you had a Bewilderbeast hidden somewhere, but no one was sure if that was true or not, so it was like an unsolved myth.

You always wore black armor, even a black armored mask, that hid your identity from everyone. There were a few words that went around that said that you rode a Night Fury.

It was a normal day, and you were out flying on your dragon, which happened to be a Night Fury, and you happened to run into the Riders on that day.
