As he is currently locked in his cell room inside the AAA Wunder by Misato's orders for security measures at WILLE, the organization founded by Misato herself that seeks to annihiliate NERV in order to prevent a Fourth Impact from ever happening at any given cost, Asuka and Mari decide to take a little detour and pay a visit to Shinji in his cell room before the entire WILLE crew start "Operation Yamato", a suicide mission set to stop NERV from starting a Fourth Impact on the entire Earth and revert the effects of the Third Impact in the whole world to restore it as it used to be 14 years ago.

Unbeknownst to him without even being able to listen to the quiet footsteps of the two girls, now inside their new white plugsuits, at all as they get inside his cell room, Mari approaches Shinji as she grabs his shoulders with both of her hands from his back to sniff his scent at the back of his neck, lying down on his bed face down chillingly and remaining on a friendly, casual position as Asuka remains quietly leaned against the door of his cell with a completely indifferent, cold look on her face and both arms crossed against her chest.

Sniffing at the back of Shinji's neck while lying down his bed alongside him, Mari comes to think that things now might be a little different compared to the first time she met Shinji 14 years ago, when she accidentally fell on top of him in a parachute on the roof of his school. Could it be actual proof that he has finally matured as a person, by any given chance at all?

Mari: "It seems you've changed a little bit, WILLE Puppy. There seems to be a bit more of a mature scent on you now. Wouldn't you say, Princess?" Mari inquires with curiosity and intrigue.

Asuka: "It's not that simple for that useless, stupid, idiotic little brat to change at all, Four-Eyes." Asuka retorts in an irked and frosty tone while remaining leaned against the back of Shinji's cell with both arms crossed against her chest, her expression totally cold and unfazed.

Asuka: "It’s the end, so I’ll ask now: Did you finally manage to figure out why I wanted to clobber you back then when we first met again at the Wunder after you remained in space orbit while also remaining sleepy and unconscious inside the EVA-01 during all these 14 years? After almost causing a Fourth Impact in such a stupid and childish attempt to save the life of that unthinking, emotionless, obedient little doll created by your pathetic father with your deceased mother’s DNA? After crying so much back in the village like a prickly little baby instead of helping me and Kensuke with the chores at his own modest house, you stupid, useless little brat?" Asuka asks Shinji in an absolutely cruel, merciless, ruthless, sarcastic, impatient tone, her right dark-blue eye shining with total coldness and rudeness while her left eye remains covered by a black patch. Her long orange hair fully reaches down her shoulders effortlessly while also reaching down half her own back with ease. Her words are dripping with complete harshness and aggressiveness as she waits for his response along with Mari, who is quietly and relaxedly sat face down beside him on his bed as she moves both of her legs like a child and one of her hands rests onto her chin while the other remains onto Shinji's bed in his cell room. The three of them are alone right now in his cell room inside the AAA Wunder, WILLE's main aerial battleship to fight against NERV.
