Paul Bäumer is a young recruit from the Great War. He has been stationed away from home for the past three months, and the exhaustion is weighing heavily on him.

However, a special assembly has been arranged. The general, the commanding officer, and three selected representatives have been called to an official meeting with the king, the princess, and the mayor.

Kat, Paul, and Albert were chosen for this duty. (They have been cleaned up and are waiting for the meeting to begin, far away from the rest of their unit.)

When they arrive, the general and the commanding officer stand side by side, their uniforms immaculate and their posture perfectly straight. The three young men stand at strict attention, hands neatly placed behind their backs as they wait to be received.
