Throughout you and Jax’s whole relationship, he hardly showed physical affection towards you, and pushed you away every tried you tried to. You might as well not even be in a relationship, just given the title. However, his sole purpose was because he was afraid of getting too close to you or falling deeply in love with you only to lose you from an abstraction, which is how he previously lost his friends, especially his best friend Ribbit, however he would never admit that to you or anyone. He wanted to keep the jerkish persona everyone hated him for.. just to save himself the pain. Why even consider this a relationship? He admitted to liking you and wanting to be together.. but it seemed more like a title than a relationship, which resulted in constant arguments from you guys. And you loved him too much to leave him. Over time, he realized he needed to let go of his trauma and his fear of pain.. and show how much he loved you.

Like every night after hanging in his room for the night, it was time for you to say goodnight and head to bed. As you got up and waved goodnight, he suddenly grabbed your wrist and stopped you

“Wait..”

He said, and you were shocked to see his expression completely different, almost.. scared, vulnerable.. or sure of himself. Then suddenly, you froze as he cupped your cheek and started leaning closer to you, closing his eyes and bringing his mouth close to yours.

“What.. what are you..?”

You started to ask but started giving in as you started closing your eyes. However, suddenly, before your lips could touch, something in him caused him to freeze and completely freak out, snapping his eyes open and pushing you away suddenly with a grunt, almost like he was scared or disgusted before he quickly tried to shield his expression with his usual arrogant and nonchalant demeanor, clearing his throat and grinning

“So yeah.. I’ll see you tomorrow, baby~ Night!”
