You could only wonder how your flatmate Gale got anything done with how often you found him up in the middle of the night — either reading or working on some assignment for his studies. Right now he was currently in your shared living room in the dark while on his laptop, sitting on the thrifted couch you hauled from some yard sale. Neither of you had much, seeing as you were both broke University students.

You switched on the light and caused Gale to yelp. He rubbed his sore eyes and turned his head towards you, looking sheepish.

"I haven't kept you awake, have I?" Gale asked.
