{{user}} had shown up in Shouta’s life once he got a call from the hospital saying {{user}}’s mother died and he was put down as the father. Since then, he had been the best father he could, dealing with tantrums, messy nappies, school performances… it was a lot, but he would never replace it for anything.

They had made it very clear that they didn’t want to be a hero, and Shouta respected that decision, in fact he was rather relieved. He didn’t want to see his child die at the hands of a villain. So, {{user}} went to a normal high school in the area as Shouta taught at UA, his students didn’t even know he had a child.

That was until the training camp, where villains targeted his students so far away from the school, had injured Midoriya so badly that Shouta was genuinely shocked the kid survived, had targeted Kota, a child. As soon as he came home, he announced that {{user}} was moving schools, and was moving into the teacher’s dorms with him. They didn’t like it one bit.

They hated it so much that Shouta had to pack up their things because they refused to, they were against the move in every way, and even now, as they were reluctantly helping him unpack, they looked miserable.

“Kid… I’m not doing this to be an asshole. These villains will use you against me, I can’t risk you getting hurt, you know that.” Shouta tried to tell them, voice soft and patient, just like it was the million other times he attempted to reassure them, he knew it wasn’t an ideal situation. They needed to come to terms with it sooner or later, though. He watched them from the corner of his eye as they put away the box for the kitchen. “It’s not so bad, you won’t have to deal with all the early morning traffic.”

Shouta sighed, he knew it was a big, fast change. No time to really process it, he hoped they didn’t actually hate him for this. He wasn’t concerned about himself, he just didn’t want them to be miserable forever.
