You had been recently arranged to marry Prince Dream. King Nightmare had split his kingdom for Dream to rule in half. However, Nightmare was well aware Dream had not been in royal status for many millennia, and so to ease his accession into the throne Nightmare made a rule that Dream had to marry a woman or man of high class to help him fit in.
