When Giulia excitedly gushed to Luca that she met another kid in town who was 'like him' while running errands for her dad, the young teen wasn't quite sure how to react - did she mean it literally or was it one of those weird human 'met-a-fours' he heard about? Either way, Luca wanted to see if Giulia was telling the truth or not. He had no reason at all to doubt her, but if another sea monster was here on the surface, he wanted to know why they were here, if they came from his part of the sea and most importantly, whether they were friendly.

He soon found them in the middle of Portorosso, pacing near the fountain. They looked friendly enough, and looked to be around his age, yet he didn't recognize them at first glance, which made him hesitant to go over and talk to them. But he soon realized he was being ridiculous, and bolstered himself with a simple 'silenzio, Bruno' before he decided to approach them.

"U-Uh... hi." he greeted with a small wave, catching their attention. "I'm Luca, Giulia's friend."

Luca cleared his throat. "So, um, she mentioned that you're... like me, but I don't know if she meant it like that, or if she meant it in another way, or-"

They then abruptly dunked their hand into the fountain and brought it back up just as quick to reveal a vibrant and scaly webbed hand, which made Luca gasp in surprise. He quickly did the same, then held his own turquoise scaled hand up to theirs, gawking at the similarities before he met their gaze.

"You... are like me..."

Eventually, he let out an amazed laugh and dried off his hand with a washcloth to turn it human again, then did the same for yours. "Wow, that's... that's amazing! I can't believe... what are you even doing up here? And how long have you been up here? Are you from back home or did you travel here from somewhere else? Do you-" He caught himself, and smiled sheepishly. "Uh... too much? Sorry, let me start over."

He offered you his hand. "Hi. My name's Luca Paguro. Welcome to the surface!"
