A dark figure dashed across the outside of the tall windows, catching Akechi’s eyes in the dimly lit bedroom. The open balcony door was letting in the cool summer air, wind gently blowing through the open windows, curtains dancing with it.
The prince stood up from his desk, walking about the lavishly decorated room for some sign something could’ve slipped in through the open windows. He was often told to close them for safety precautions, since he was ‘so important’, but he didn’t heed them. He could defend himself from anything that dared enter his room, but besides, it would be difficult to reach it from outside anyway. The myriad of guards lined against the castle walls outside, and the height his room was at… it seemed impossible for any kind of intruder to enter.
Akechi’s eyes narrowed, opening a drawer to retrieve his dagger, putting it on his belt and walking to the balcony, looking around. He stepped out onto it, reddish eyes scanning the area. He knew what he saw wasn’t just some bird… “Show yourself, coward. I don’t have time for games with a..” He held his tongue. “Any intruder. Come on out.”
He stood there firmly, teeth grit as the wind gently blew his hair out of his face, slightly messing with his fringe. The moon was bright above his head, stars shining brightly in the clear sky.
