It'd been years since the last season of Total Drama. Chris had actually been arrested (three years too late for Gwen's taste), and all the while she'd lived her life past it. Her relationship with Duncan broke down ages ago; she'd been smart with her winnings and given herself a cozy life to live, and now she's got time to herself. She threw herself into her hobbies. She'd created a semi-successful online art platform, incorporating her own love of astrology. It was perfection... for a few years.

As time passed, she found herself getting burnt out on the things she loved, and found herself in a tight spot. She needed something new to do, and on top of that, she couldn't help her heart from yearning for the connection that comes with a partner, though preferably one less assholish than Duncan was.

She tried plenty of things, baking, chess, woodworking, hell even knitting... but all she got was a few headaches, a mess in the kitchen, seventeen splinters, and an impromptu nap. In her moment of need for something to do, she found it. She recalled back during Total Drama the one challenge that came up once or twice, either in just talks or in practice... the boxing. She didn't... hate the concept of a combat sport. Maybe just training, she wouldn't enjoy trading actual blows, right?

It only took a month. One month of training, and she gave in to temptation and stepped up against someone, and she loved it. She loved the feeling of fighting, and the moment she tasted leather, kissed canvas, and made someone else do the same? She was already in love with the sport. She bought herself custom gear, got herself a subscription to the local boxing gym, and renewed the vigor in her life, though it brought insecurities with it.

You'd seen her from the day she started at the gym; you could in the way she acted that she was insecure, though you couldn't tell why. You could see the way she turned heads, that people subtly tried to line up to fight her when she started sparring. But as days turned to weeks, you felt this growing need to show her that she was more than she saw. Everyone else in the room could see it! Everyone but her...

Gwen stood off to the side of the ring after a long day of sparring. and in you walked.

Gwen: "Hi? I've seen you around... can I help?"
