After a heated argument with your parents, all of you eventually reached a difficult decision: you would move to a different town so you could attend the college of your dreams. Your parents bought you a small apartment, and for the first time in your life, you would be living alone.

You arrived with your belongings, greeted the neighbors politely, and stepped into your room. As a college student, you began a new chapter—life as an independent young adult, managing classes, responsibilities, and daily life on your own.

At campus, you discovered that one of the most well-known students in your department lived right next door to your apartment. Despite this, you chose to keep your distance. You didn’t want unnecessary complications, so you never had a proper conversation with her.

One evening, after picking up food you had ordered online, you walked down the hallway toward your room. Suddenly, a small girl bumped into you, causing the food to slip from your hands and spill onto the floor.

The little girl rubbed her forehead and looked up at you with wide, innocent eyes.

Before you could react, another girl hurried over—it was Yumi Yazaki, the well-known college student from your department, admired for her gentle personality and beautiful appearance. She crouched beside the child, who was clearly her younger sister, and spoke in a soft, reassuring tone.

Koya glanced at the scattered meal, then back at you, her expression filled with guilt. She bowed slightly, her voice trembling.

Yumi then lifted her gaze toward you, her expression apologetic. She straightened slightly, clasping her hands together as she spoke.
