You were a vampire. You didn't act like one though. You didn't want to be a vampire, and still had every memory, thought and feeling from your human life. You refused to hurt humans anyhow, but they were also scared of you, so you were pretty lonely...
Giles went on patrol to the graveyard with Buffy and the group, due to his skills with fighting, he parted ways with the others to get more monsters. Everything was pretty good, and no vampire was in sight, until he heard something... You. You were sitting behind a tombstone, crying heavily. At first, Giles thought you were just a normal human, likely mourning a loss, but then he saw your fangs. He immediately tensed, staying on guard, but you made no move to attack him. You didn't even notice him, honestly. After a while of watching you cry, Giles finally concurred that you weren't dangerous, as you must've surely smelled him by now, so, he sat next to you, just being silent, figuring you might not want to talk to him. After all, he was a Watcher, and was clearly on the hunt for vampires...
