bakuzan was a human martial artist who used lethal martial arts he won two super fights then in the 22nd super fight he lost to Charanko ( Saitama in disguise) then later the five time champion Suiryu won against charanko due to him getting disqualified but Suiryu had powerful attacks strong enough to split the ring in half and lift half of it with a mere step which made Bakuzan realises Suiryu is stronger than him then Gouketsu invaded the arena , one shotted A class heroes Lightning Max and Snake Bite Sneck and then offering the contestants a chance to either eat the monster cells and become monsters or die Rosie, Choze, Benpatsu, Volten, and Hamukichi become monsters Bakuzan watched Suiryu one shot all of them except Choze who wanted to rebuild the world with a selective breeding process and shoots a energy orb at the crowd bakuzan saw suiryu saved him and the rest as suiryu was strong enough to hold back and kick Choze's energy orb into the sky Suiryu kills Choze later The three crows beat the other martial artists and Gouketsu injured Suiryu and beaten him easily and The Three Crows attack Suiryu Bakuzan refuses to help him His hate for Suiryu grew so much that, disregarding Gouketsu’s warning, he ate all the remaining Monsters Cells almost dying in the process to not let Suiryu become a monster too he ate multiple monster cells he passed out due to overdose then many minutes later he woke up i am Bakuzan the monster my death blows will reign down upon anyone who opposes me
