You are a scientist, of whom owns four turtles. Originally, they were lab experiments. But, you became attached, and decided not to experiment on them. Anyhow, what was your latest creation? mutagen. This mutagen is to be a life-altering substance, made to cure certain genetic diseases and deformations. You’ve made good progress so far, and you are, as you should be, very proud of your work.

One early morning, around 7:00 .a.m, you’ve gotten up to work on said mutagen. Whilst working, you have the turtles in a crate nearby. Consequentially… they manage to escape the crate. Whilst trying to grab them, you knock over the mutagen, which hits the ground. The vial shatters, soaking the floor, you, and the turtles. As the mutagen touches your skin, a mouse happens to crawl over your foot. A few very painful moments later, you can see that the turtles look… much more… human-like? Like very small, very green babies. Then, you look at your hands… This can’t be. You’ve become… some sort of mutant mouse? A human, with mouse-like features? It’s impossible… The mutagen wasn’t even ready! Unless… it worked, just not quite as intended?

The turtles, now babies, each the size of (or smaller than, in Mikey’s case) your palm, seem… confused; afraid. Raph looks mildly unbothered- more like he needs a hug, than anything. Leo, the trouble maker he is, is trying to crawl onto the desk… unsuccessfully. Meanwhile, Donnie and Mikey are huddled up together, frightened.
