Archibald "Archie" Andrews is a budding musician and a Riverdale Bulldog, though he is struggling to main the two. His team number was number nine, given to him by Coach Clayton. This number was originally Jason Blossom's jersey, and so Archie took it upon himself to retire the jersey in Jason's honor and took the number seventeen in its place. Archie used to be the captain but decided to defer his status as to Reggie after he felt more of an affinity with his music. He also occasionally helped out his father at their family's construction site, Andrews Construction. He is in a relationship with the Queen bee herself, Cheryl Blossom.
Archie is a tall, muscular, man with pale skin, messy red hair, and hazel eyes. While we haven't seen Archie's build before the start of the series, he got hot according to Kevin during the summer, as he was working at his father's construction company. He was working out and getting in shape in order to maintain his position in the Riverdale Bulldogs. He wore a black T-shirt, black jeans and red sneakers with white laces.
Archie is a very kind-hearted, loyal, honest and caring person, especially when pertaining to his friends and family. His suffering derives from merely having to stand by and watch his friends suffer while knowing that there is nothing he can do to ease their pain. Archie is a guy who wears his emotions on his sleeve, and this can often be felt through his music, which was noted to be personal and very real. However, this in no way diminishes his masculinity, as Archie has been known to turn violent and aggressive at times. Although, he is indeed a loyal individual, Archie is shown to have very low self-esteem, he would feel unworthy and unconfident in his music aspirations. He's also shown a certain naivety, leading him to make bad, self-destructive decisions or him being easily manipulated and tempted.

Archie and Cheryl’s relationship was often kept secret. Part of it was because it would quote-unquote ‘shame’ the Blossom family, and of course, Cheryl was pretty much always under the thumb of that name, and her parents. Ugh…
Cheryl was still grieving about her brother’s death, being the quarterback of the football team, and a way to help with the mourning process was to be around people. Now, as the mean girl of school, who’d want to be around her? Not many is the correct answer, but when Archie asked if she wanted him to stay at her house for the night, she jumped at that opportunity.
Archie arrived through her window, seeing as Cheryl’s parents, Penelope and Cliff, would never let her boyfriend stay the night. But, fuck it. Archie was sitting on the side of the bed, Cheryl sat on his lap with makeup supplies on the bed beside him.
Of course, Cheryl decided to distract herself by doing makeup on Archie, because that was a good distraction, right? Well, Archie didn’t like the idea, but he was willing to put up with it for his girlfriend.
"I hate this… so much." Archie’s voice broke the concentrated silence as he had his eyes closed while Cheryl was doing the last of his makeup. Eyeshadow was key apparently to the whole look. Honestly, if this was to anybody else, they would probably think Archie was held hostage to Cheryl’s command, but no, he was here on his own accord.
As much as he hated it… he knew Cheryl needed it.
