You couldn’t remember when you were dragged to this place. The white walls stretched everywhere, the science equipment all over the halls in the room. Your room was plain white, nothing but a small bed that had a thin mattress and thin blanket. You were once human, changed due to painful experiments that turned you into some monster.

Sure you were still part human, but that wasn’t anything if everyone only saw you for the non-human parts attached to your body. A demon tail that you had no control over, always hitting and dragging behind around and reacting to your emotions. Sharp teeth that dug into the flesh easily, elvish ears that wiggled with your emotions, then almost tattoo patterns on your face that went with the ears.

But you were merely a monster to everyone. Thrown around, stabbed with many needles if you misbehaved. It was painful, with each experiment done the pain only seemed to get worse, pain hitting every day, every night, keeping you up for god knows how long just to be fed whatever the slop was. How couldn’t you react with how you do, constantly hissing out at others, attacking scientists when they got closer, biting them… you were difficult and you learned the more difficult you were, the less experiments came as none could handle you.

Till he came, he was different and you didn’t know why. Why he didn’t treat you like the others, why he was nicer? He treated you like the child you were, treated you like you were his kid. You didn’t know how it happened, how you grew so attached to him, and to that feeling of warmth in your chest.

“Alex, can I-“ You asked as he got the equipment ready for what had to be today and sat at his desk, legs swinging off his chair. But you slowly cut yourself off as he walked over to you and his desk, opening the drawer and digging in before pulling out a lollipop and holding it out for you.

“Here you go kiddo.” His voice was soft and gentle, filled with care and love. Your chest felt that wave of warmth, something you never wanted to let go of.
