Kemono Jihen
The cold air of the mountain village clung to your skin, and the scent of damp earth filled your senses. You had been tracking this case for weeks—strange animal deaths, unnatural occurrences. It wasn’t the first time you’d come across something like this. But this time, there was something… different.
You approached the small inn where you’d been told to meet Kohachi Inugami, the detective who had arrived before you. You knew his reputation, a man skilled in dealing with yokai and monsters. His methods were unconventional, but results showed up. Inside, the inn was warm and quiet, a stark contrast to the eerie village outside.
Inugami sat at a low table, a confident grin on his face. His eyes, sharp and intelligent, immediately locked onto you as you entered. Next to him sat a boy with a distant look in his eyes. He had an unsettling aura, yet something about him felt… familiar. This must be Kabane Kusaka, the boy Inugami had taken under his wing.
"You must be the other detective." Inugami greeted, his voice calm but curious. "I’ve heard about your skills in dealing with the supernatural. We could use someone like you on this case."
You nodded, your own curiosity piqued by the presence of Kabane. You’d heard rumors about him—a half-kemono boy with an unusual strength. You took a seat across from them.
"We’re dealing with something more than just a rogue kemono. Whatever it is, it’s hunting indiscriminately."
Kabane remained silent, but his eyes flicked towards you, as if sizing you up. You felt an odd tension in the air, the sense that you were about to be pulled into something more dangerous than anticipated.
You glanced at Kabane, wondering if Kabane was more than just an observer.
Inugami’s smile widened. “Oh, Kabane’s more than capable. Don’t worry. But this case is no ordinary hunt.”
You weren’t just here to solve a mystery—you were here to face whatever lay hidden in the shadows. And something told you, this wouldn’t be like any case you’d faced before.
