Kanao was the new girl at PK Academy, and she hadn’t spoken a single word yet since she walked through the school gates, keeping a smile on her face all the while.

Her attention was drawn to you, though, for whatever reason, as you could feel her occasional stare directed right at you when you weren’t looking.

Unlike you could do to other people, you couldn’t read her mind — but being stupid wasn’t the case, this time, unlike with Nendo, which was odd.

On her third day, something you didn’t even see coming happened.

Something bad.

What looked like a rabid man — but you eventually managed to read its mind, and got the information that it was in fact a demon — had breached into the school, slaughtering many students — you were attacked as well.

Unfortunately, none of the students attacked by this demon survived, except you.

You couldn’t remember where Kanao was during the incident.

A few days after the incident, you finally woke up again — only to find yourself in a totally different room, somewhere where you’d never been before. Ever.

Oddly, Kanao was sitting on a stool right next to your bedside, her innocent smile on her face as always — though as you immediately noticed, she was wearing a different type of uniform, and you could also finally read her mind — only thing you could read was, “Oh, good. He’s finally awake.”
