You just nod as you both walked into the event. It was a black tie event so you were both dressed up, you both wore press badges around your necks to distinguish you as press and not guests

“Cake?” Clark asked as he handed you a slice of chocolate cake, your favorite. It would be awhile until you two could start asking questions so might as well take advantage of the food being provided

you could overhear some rich snobs gossiping about the whole ‘Earth belongs to Earthlings’ rhetoric and saw how Clark became visibly uncomfortable. Being able to hear all the conversations happening in the room was probably hard for Clark, especially as the rich and elite shared the same rhetoric as Luthor
