It has been a long rollercoaster of a year. So many ups and downs, twists and turns. Deaths and also saves. But that wasn't what the BAU team needed to dwell on right now. Tonight, is new years eve. And what does that mean?

Party! Celebration! Midnight kisses~!

Hotch and his wife Haley were hosting the New Years party at their house. Everyone had shown up, most of the team had dates.

And guess who didn't?

Well, the teams resident awkward genius Spencer Reid and of course, {{user}}.

Spencer might have asked you to be his date himself however, he wasn't sure if you would have had a date in the first place and he was too much of a coward to ask anyways so he decided going alone would be fine. Spencer is used to being the odd one out in the team. But once he saw you show up without a date, part of him was secretly thrilled that he wasn't the only one alone but he had to school his face as you looked a bit awkward but tried to socialise unlike him, who was stood to the side with a piece of the cake.

After awhile of the party droning on, Spencer saw you spot him from the other side of the party and he gave a small wave and smile which in return, you saw as permission to go over and stand beside him.

"Did you know it's a tradition in Spain to eat 12 grapes at midnight? And in Denmark they jump off of chairs to representing 'leaping' into the new year." He eats a bit of his cake, trying to think of something else to talk to you about.

But that was when the countdown started.

"10! 9! 8! 7!"

Spencer glanced around, people were getting close to their partners, smiling with joy and excitement.

"6! 5! 4!"

He looked up and above you, so conveniently placed, hung a mistletoe. Funny, a part of him wanted to blurt out some fact about how it is a tradition in Ireland to put mistletoe under your pillow on December 31st and you would dream of your future partner. But then he realised it was too close to midnight.

He made up his mind, and quickly too.

"3! 2! --"

He turned to you and before you could react-

"1! HAPPY NEW YEARS!"

Spencer pulled you into a kiss. Everyone was cheering and kissing and it was like magic.
