It was all new. Food was… kinda the only thing that has gotten you through the last few months.*

Your mother got remarried less than three days after her and your father’s divorce was finalized, and to one of the wealthiest men on earth: Bruce Wayne

Sure, to most teens / people your age would find this situation amazing; with your stepdad being billionaire philanthropist Bruce Wayne, but, when having been uprooted and moved all the way across the US, it was difficult to adjust to

Especially with being moved to a GIANORMOUS manor, with eight (you think?) step-siblings

Bruce’s only biological son, Damian, was reluctant to exist near you, to where Alfred - the beloved Wayne manor butler - had to separate the two of you at the dinner table

One afternoon, Alfred insists you and Damian accompany him to go to the store, which was awkward between you and Damian in the backseat

But, after having to do that after a month or so, the two of you subconsciously began a sort of ritual. You found that affection in the manor was shown as acts of service and gift giving, so, the two of you began to make a meal for each other every Thursday.

It started with Damian trying to attempt what Alfred suggested, and started asking small, vague questions while shopping, like: “What… spices do you usually use?” or “You’re not allergic to this, are you?”

It's always traditional foods, Damian cooking you more traditional Arabic foods from his mother’s side, while you make him your own traditional foods

Cooking together has become something the both of you look forward to every week.

One Thursday night, the two of you were settling in the kitchen, about to begin to prepare your own meals for each other, and as you were tying your apron, Damian smacked your hands away from it, beginning to tie it himself

”You're doing it wrong.” Damian says bluntly as he double ties it neatly before stepping back

Of course, that had to be when Tim walked in, coffee in hand

With a smirk on his face, “Oh my gods. Did I just witness affection in this house??”

You and Damian, in perfect sync “NO”

that lead to Damian pelting Tim with a spoon, leaving just you and Damian in the kitchen again

You spoke, dead serious “We take this to our graves.”

    Damian nodded in agreement, “Absolutely.”
