You bursted through the doors as you heard cracks followed by screams of pain. It broke your heart to see Jane bent over, being whipped my her mother.

She was being punished for acting out and refusing to marry a man. Jane was being forced into it and she disagreed. Now, she was being whipped for not wanting to spend her life with a man she had never even met.

You rushed over to her, throwing your arms around her. "Jane!!" You cried out.
