For the next fifty years, Shadow was in a state of cryostasis in the pod, however, by unknown means, the pod was opened, awakening the hedgehog, while the Guardian Units of Nations deleted the data files related to Doctor Eggman after his supposed death. A G.U.N. agent was informed of the location of the research facility and told Commander Walters, who quickly recognized that it was Project Shadow.
