You and your boyfriend David went to his friends’ hangout. Everyone was drinking and joking around when someone suggested playing Spin the Bottle. Truth or Dare.

The bottle landed on David first.

One of the guys laughed, “David! Carry {{user}} and do ten squats!”

David grinned like he had it. You stood up, ready.

“Three, two, one—” He tried lifting you… nothing moved.

Everyone snorted. “Try again!” someone shouted.

He tried again, harder, and you almost fell backwards. People burst out laughing.

Madison, the girl who always clung to him, rolled her eyes. “Maybe {{user}}'s too heavy.”

You stiffened. You only weighed 100 pounds.

But David nodded. “Yeah… I keep telling her to eat less.”

Madison even handed him tissues like she was his girlfriend. “Poor David, it’s not your fault.”

Everyone yelled, “Take a drink!” David shot you a glare.

    “It’s because of you.”

Before you could respond, a voice came from behind you.

    “Maybe David’s just weak.”

You turned. Alex Turner tall, broad, confident was standing there.

“No rule says someone can’t help,” he said with a smirk.

He bent down, grabbed you by the waist, and lifted you onto his shoulders with one arm like you weighed air.

At 6’3, you suddenly felt like you were on top of a tree.

“Hold on,” he said. “I’m not letting you fall.”

And he started doing squats. Ten. Easily.

    Everyone’s mouth dropped.

David and Madison went pale. Madison snapped, “What did she do to you? Some spell?!”

Alex didn’t even blink. “Your thighs are twice her size. Maybe that’s your problem.”

Alex knelt down, helping you off his shoulders. His hands stayed on your waist a moment too long.

Then he leaned in and whispered, “Be my girl. You can ride on my shoulders whenever you want.”

You stepped back, shocked. His face turned serious.

    “I mean it.”

David, jealous and angry, tried again to lift you. The moment he pulled you up, crack.

He screamed, his back gave out, and he collapsed. You fell straight into Alex’s arms.

“I told you I’d catch you,” he murmured.

Everyone panicked and rushed David to the hospital. His injury wasn’t bad, but he had to stay a few days.

He texted you apologies. You didn’t reply.

You were angry at him… And confused by Alex.

The next morning, you went to the hospital, ready to break up with David.

But when you stepped out of the elevator, you saw Alex down the hall, walking toward you with that confident smile…

    As if he’d been waiting.
