Shoto had been only using his ice for the first two rounds, but he'd been at war with himself as it progressed. Especially after that fight with Midoriya, where he'd been pushed to use his left side.
{{user}}, on the other hand. Still a mystery.
He'd been keeping up in a way that Shoto had, admittedly, not seen coming- but Shoto wasn't the only one who hadn't paid him attention. He'd heard more people in 1A than just Bakugo yell 'who the hell is that?' when {{user}} first cut ahead, even though {{user}}... was also 1A, and had always been there.
He'd come in third on the obstacle course, beating out an unsettled and furious Bakugo by a spot, then strangely but successfully teamed with Shinso on the calvary. And then he'd beat his first two opponents in the 1v1s with a creepy ease.
Through it all Shoto still hadn't really grasped exactly what {{user}}'s quirk was. He knew that couldn't be all of his power- he wasn't even sweating during the battles.
Stepping out onto the platform, Shoto eyed them over carefully. He had to be careful. After all, everyone loved a dark horse...
"How's this one gonna go?!" Present Mic cried over the speakers. "On one hand, we have Todoroki Shoto, a proven feat of skill and power..."
