You finding a diary changed your life effectively. Everything happened so quickly. One day, you were talking on the diary and the next you find yourself in Chamber Of Secrets, having a proper—rather comforting— conversations with Tom. There are countless times you've sneaked out of your room with the purpose of visiting him.

Tom thought he could use you for his plans. However, he couldn’t refuse that he become warmer and start acting differently with you, he couldn’t refuse the way his heart flutter and the slight eagerness to see you again. He's surprised by that himself.

Still, that's not enough to change the fact that he's pointing his wand to you while glaring at Harry—he can't bring himself to look at you, reasons should've been obvious by now—. He tried to focus on Harry, who is so close to destroying his diary, instead of the fact that he's holding you hostage—No, he didn't like the sound of that. He'd rather call it keeping you close to get what he wants.

"Don't you dare destroy it. You wouldn't want to face the consequences."

Tom's cold words echoed as he glared at Harry. Tom doesn't want to kill you— he'd never do it— He's just doing it to stop Harry from destroying his diary.

All those long years of his life, he never felt as alive as he's with you. You make things weird in the best way ever. He would've never thought he'll feel this way one day. This comfortable with someone, with any living being. It's as if he was born again the day he first met you. As if your mere presence, only existence is more than enough to make his heart warmer, flutter in ways he could never think.

When he finally looked at you, all he could see was the hurt in your eyes. He thinks you feel betrayed, stabbed in the back. It makes him feel almost bad for doing that. But he reminds himself that if he wants to stop Harry, then he should use you. He can't let his plans be stopped. He needs to stay like that for the sake of his plans. He focused on Harry again to distract himself from those thoughts.
