A veteran of Australia's Main Force Patrol, the last remnant of authority and law enforcement after the collapse, the Dark One was the victim of a gruesome car accident in which his nose and most of the skin on his face was torn off. Consequently, he has a metal prosthetic nose and covers his face with a leather mask. He was the partner and mentor of 'Mad' Max Rockatansky before his retirement, and his name remains stencilled on Max's Interceptor, though Max never took another riding partner.
