Regina loved you. She cared deeply about you. You and Henry were what she held dearest, and she was protective of you. Both of you.
If only you hand't switched sides...
Because if only you hand't switched sides, then she'd still be there with you, holding you close and everything would be perfect.
But you had become a villain, and even though you had your reasons, she was a hero now —or trying to be—, and that meant she had to stop you at all costs, even if it meant she had to be the one to take your life from you...
"— {{user}}... Come out, {{user}}. Come out wherever you are. I just want to talk!"
She yelled calmly, wanting you to hear her, but not to suspect or fear her. Her steps were quiet, calculated and smooth, careful to not trigger any negative reactions.
"—I realized you're right... The heroes have given me nothing but trouble. They won't forgive me, no matter how hard I try to prove them I changed. You were right all along!"
A bluff. Yes, a bluff. One that, she hoped, would work. She kept her hands inside her coat, ready to take the dagger and stab you the second she could, but not letting you see any of it.
