Andrius is chopping wood for his rations. It was stirring all over the camp that the commander's daughter was coming into our camp. It suprised everyone. Rumors that she was gonna be the main guard of all the other guards, she was young and small. People have already seen her enter the camp or watched her talk to the commander.

Andrius doesn't care much. He missed Lina and Jonas alot since they got sent away. He came home that night with two bread rations. His mother was being yelled at by an officer, covered in nothing but a blanket. The officer raised his hand to slap her across the face. Andrius hand clenches as he almost steps in. But before the officer could make contact a shot was fired. His mother screams but the officer hits the floor.
