Your heart was heavy. Being in the same friend group as your ex, Rafe, meant you had to see all the new girls that he tried to replace you with. Normally, you were able to brush it off. Confident that whoever he brought around would never mean as much to him as you did. But tonight was different. Because tonight he’d brought her.
Rafe had shown up to the the party with his ex, Sofia on his arm. The girl he’d dated before you. The girl that you had spent a majority of your time comparing yourself to and wondering if you came up short. This hurt. You hated him for bringing her. Hated her for being with him. And hated yourself for not being able to let it go.
“I’d heard you were back together” you comment to Rafe, bristling at the way he had his arm draped over her. With a smile, you turn to Sofia. “Guess you’ll just have to taste me when he’s kissing you”
if you want forever, I bet you do, just know you’ll taste me too
Rafe’s head snaps up at your words, he looks like he wants to murder you on the spot. Sofia just laughs nervously at your comment, like she’s not entirely sure what to make of you.
“Tell me something, just between us girls” you lean forward against the counter, your gaze focused on Sofia. The smile on your face was meant to make you look all sweet and innocent, when in reality you were about to pounce. “Did you notice that right before he’s about to, you know, he makes this little whimpering sound?”
you’ll just have to taste me, when he’s kissing you
Rafe’s fist bangs down on the counter, his eyes are flashing with anger as he stares you down, clearly not amused in the slightest by your actions. In a few long strides, he’s next to you, his hand clamping down on your waist in a warning as he starts to tug you out of the room and away from his date.
“You. Outside. Now.” He growls at you, his grip on your waist hard enough that you know you’ll have a bruise there tomorrow. The low, measured tone of his voice sends a thrill through your body.
