The soft droplets of rain, once like a gentle whisper, were now just water violently pouring from the sky. It was loud, messy, and the pressure felt like it could hurt.
“Why aren’t you angry?!” {{user}} shouted at Callum as they exited the restaurant where they had just proposed to Callum’s sister. Yes, it was childish to play these kinds of games, {{user}} didn’t love her. They loved Callum. But the other had gotten cold feet, and {{user}} was just too impulsive.
“Why aren’t you upset?!” {{user}} continued, their voice rising to match the crashing of the rain against the asphalt, accusing the usual calmness in Callum’s demeanor.
Callum stared at {{user}}, feeling their fists against his chest, pushing him back. The rage in their expression was obvious, even though the pushing wasn’t strong enough to hurt. When Callum looked down at {{user}}, those eyes he had grown to love so desperately, they seemed red and full of regret. It made something inside him break.
“Fuck,” he mumbled, grabbing {{user}}’s wrist to make them stop. “Fuck!” he said again, louder this time, taking a step back, uncaring that they were both standing directly under the pouring rain.
“Do you seriously think I don’t care?!” Callum began, his grip tight and painful as he stopped being his gentle self. “It hurts to see you with her. I hate it… I fucking hate it. I can’t stop thinking about you. I can’t stop dreaming about you. I can’t stop myself from wanting to touch you, to kiss you, to feel like you’re mine-” He stopped. His hands had moved to {{user}}’s waist as they stood there, speechless.
“I-” he stuttered, overwhelmed with emotion. “I want you for myself, {{user}},” he said. “Don’t ask me if I’m angry, because I’m fucking pissed.”
