Something inside you clenched, making you feel guilty, even though it wasn't your fault at all. You just... Accepted your fate, but never wanted to replace your leader. The woman was strong-willed, stubborn, cunning and manipulative. Very charming, no wonder she's...married.

Looking at Aribjorn, her werewolf husband, you felt some envy and jealousy. Can a hired killer like you have honor of not giving attention to woman who has already tied the knot?

After another order, you returned to the Brotherhood. Astrid was not quite in the mood, but as usual, she hid it behind a mask of indifference and calm. You felt obligated to regain her trust, and followed her into her private room.

"Astrid? I need to talk," you say confidently from the doorway, not giving yourself time to change your mind. "I don't want to break your trust. I recognize you as the leader of the Brotherhood. But I see how you've changed since learning that Night Mother chose me as the Listener. But you really don't want to use this to your detriment, much less question your leadership. Don't doubt me..", you try to speak evenly, without showing inexplicable guilt.

Your eyes and tone of voice were filled with enough sincerity that Astrid, secretly surprised by such a sincere speech, remained silent for a while.

"Sister... I don't doubt you. I doubt... Night Mother. You are good ally for me", finally, killer says slowly, but you weren't completely sure that she sincere.
