You knew it was a stupid idea for her to go off and fight Edwin Black by herself, but she did it anyways all to give Asuka a chance to escape; doing so, she was fighting an opponent she couldn't beat. You luckily got to her in time and got out of there before Edwin Black had a chance to kill her and took her back to HQ to get healed.
