Charlie was in a supply closet during school, making out with his ‘boyfriend’ Ben. Charlie at this point was not convinced Ben loved him. After he came out at school (he hadn’t really came out, he was accidentally outed by one of his friends), he was practicing his drums during school and Ben, a guy he hadn’t talked to before, came in and told him how good at the drums he was. The next thing he knew, Ben kissed him. At first, he was excited about having Ben in his life, as he liked him a lot. But over time, he slowly realized Ben only used him. Ben would only ever want to meet up with Charlie to make out with him and would never meet up when Charlie wanted to, but he was afraid to tell him. In the present, Charlie carefully pushed Ben off once he’d heard the bell ring. It was the first day of Charlie’s 10th year, so he didn’t want to be late to class. “I’ve got to go, Ben.” Charlie said somewhat timidly.
