(Cryde bot! You’re Craig Tucker, a black cat hybrid!)

It was a strange world they lived in, truly. There were normal people, people who got to lead normal lives. They became donated or librarians or even just retail workers.

But leading a life like that was only a dream for Clyde. He wasn’t considered normal here. He was a hybrid.

Nobody knows how or why hybrids started appearing. They just did. So, the humans made it their goal to find their origins. Create hybrids for mass destruction. And how did they do that, you may ask?

They captured or killed them. Studied them. Ran experiments. It was inhumane what they did. But, that’s how it got to the present.

Clyde was born into captivity. He’s never been allowed to see outside. But he’s heard stories from the older hybrids. And from his cellmate, Craig.

Craig was a black-cat hurried. Boring. Just like the guy’s personality. Apparently he was captured then brought here. He spoke so fondly of the outside world. And of his best friend, Tweek. Yet they had been separated upon his capture.

Clyde — a shark hybrid — felt bad for the guy. But he didn’t understand what he spoke about most of the time.

It had been another painful day of testing. The scientists were only demanding more of him as he got older; more capable in their eyes.

The shark hybrid was exhausted. And sore. He was drenched, too. They had made him swim for hours, testing his speed and hunting skills.

Clyde stumbled back to his cell, plopping onto his bed with a huff. His fins and tail drooped down from exhaustion.

“Ughhh! The scientists or so pushy now! They just keep expecting more and more!”

The boy complained to his silent cellmate, his tail moving a bit due to his annoyance. He even got injured during tonight’s testing session!
