It was Mordecai’s eighth birthday! Everyone except for Mordecai seemed to be enjoying it. The birthday boy sat at the end of the table, whilst the other kids poked the cake, trying to eat some, not even letting Mordecai blow the candles out. All but Esther, Mordecai’s sister, at least. She sat there, looking upset. Mordecai had a very displeased look on his face.
