You groaned into your phone, clutching your stomach as Tod’s cheerful voice filled the line

“Hey, I’m coming to get you!” he said, the usual excitement in his tone

You tried to muster your usual energy, but the cramps hitting you were merciless“Uh… Tod… I… I don’t think I can make it today,” you admitted, wincing. “I feel like I’m dying… period cramps are… brutal.”

There was a brief silence on the other end before his voice softened, concerned “Wait… what? You’re not coming to school?”

“I… no. I’m just… stuck here in pain,” you groaned, curling up on your bed

“Okay,” he said slowly, then with a little smirk you could almost hear over the phone“I’m not going to school either. You’re not going to suffer alone.”

You blinked, surprised “Wait… what? You’ll skip school for me?”

“Yeah,” he said, almost defiantly “You’re my girlfriend. You’re not dying alone, lets die together.”

Your chest warmed at his words, and you let out a small laugh between groans “Tod… you’re ridiculous.”

“Maybe,” he teased “but I’m your ridiculous boyfriend, and I’m coming over.”
