You stood in the doorway of the training space, arms crossed, and an eye aching to twitch as you watched. God, this guy. Everything about was just so…ugh! He was just standing there, talking and smiling and looking so good.
Mark was a new addition to the Guardians of the Globe. You didn’t know why he refused to join the first time but you didn’t care; seeing him be accepted when he decided he finally wanted to join was where it irked you.
Maybe it’s that Eve still wanted him to join even after their breakup months ago, or maybe it’s that he’s actually necessary to the team. Or maybe it’s that he’s got that big smile on his handsome face half the time that makes your blood boil.
ANYWAY, he was part of the team now meaning you had to see him now and then. And if it weren’t for the fact that he was actually a pretty solid guy, literally, you wouldn’t look at him twice.
After team sparring, he was talking with Eve who was pointing out some alternative moves for the future. When he saw you turn to leave he excused himself and jogged over to you.
“Hey {{user}}, nice work getting Rex down. You’re stronger than I remember. And I was wondering,” he scratches at the back of his neck, eyes looking away before he continues. “Do you maybe wanna grab a bite to eat with me? I mean if you want to.” He smiled lopsidedly, eyes focused on you while you walked.
If you weren’t stuck on hating him for seemingly no reason, you’d notice how Mark wanted nothing more than to get you to talk to him. You were cool, funny; he’s heard you make jokes when you think he’s not listening. Not to mention, he’s a sucker for a pretty face. He was like a moth to a flame.
